Figuration after certainty

The series

Quantum Figurative begins in 2020 with the figure returned to a field of unstable relations. Faces divide, orbit and repeat. The self-portrait becomes a constellation; the body, a point of passage between intimate memory and cosmic scale.

Colour carries much of this movement: cobalt, earth red, ochre, wine and turquoise press against one another without dissolving the image. Historical artists enter the series not as quotations but as presences moving through a contemporary pictorial universe.
